Scrabble Association of Zambia
The national governing body for competitive Scrabble in Zambia. Affiliated with WESPA and PANASA, promoting the sport across all 10 provinces.
About SAZ
The Scrabble Association of Zambia (SAZ) was founded in 2003 to organise, develop, and promote the sport of Scrabble across Zambia. From humble beginnings in Lusaka, the association has grown to encompass clubs in all 10 provinces.
SAZ is the official representative of Zambia to the World English-language Scrabble Players Association (WESPA) and the Pan-African Scrabble Association (PANASA). All SAZ-sanctioned tournaments contribute to players' international WESPA ratings.
Our mission is to make Scrabble accessible to all Zambians — from school children discovering the game for the first time, to elite players competing on the world stage.
Our Mission
To promote, develop and govern competitive Scrabble in Zambia at all levels.
Our Vision
To make Zambia a leading Scrabble nation in Africa and on the world stage.
Our Values
Integrity, excellence, inclusivity, and the love of language.
